UC Irvine School of Law Students Honored with CEB Legal Research and Writing Awards 

IRVINE, Calif. (May 6, 2024) — The University of California, Irvine School of Law presented Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) awards for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing to students during an April 18 ceremony at the Law School.  

Recipients included second-year students J.P. Elberfeld, Jacob Ghandour, Riley Salvo, Ji Yeon Seo and Kayla Shojai for briefs written during their first-year Lawyering Skills course in Spring 2023. The students were presented with an award certificate and received cash gifts. 

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the work of these superb writers and very grateful to CEB for its support of the award,” said Professor of Lawyering Skills Alison Mikkor, who presented the award certificates to the recipients.   

A nonprofit program part of the University of California, CEB provides practice guides, ongoing education, and other resources to legal professionals. CEB created the Excellence in Legal Research and Writing awards to recognize outstanding briefs written by first-year students. The award honors UC Irvine School of Law students who demonstrate outstanding performance in the school’s Lawyering Skills Program
