IRVINE, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2025) — University of California, Irvine School of Law Professor Kevin Haeberle had his article Fraud-on-the-Market Liability in the ESG Era selected for republication in the 2025 edition of the Securities Law Review. Published by Thomson Reuters, the Securities Law Review typically selects the top 10 law-review articles of the year in the securities area, as determined by its editors. Professor Haeberle’s work had also been selected for republication in the Securities Law Review in 2016 and 2020.
Updated annually, the Securities Law Review collects articles about securities law from the past year and compiles them in a single volume. The collection contributes to an understanding of the evolving framework of securities law and practice and helps readers stay on top of current critical thinking in securities regulation, as well as recent judicial, legislative, and regulatory decisions.
Fraud-on-the-Market Liability in the ESG Era was originally published in the Tulane Law Review last summer. The article argues for reforming the fraud-on-the-market litigation framework in the ESG era by requiring plaintiffs targeting non-financial disclosures to prove price impact upfront to an independent panel of financial economists before gaining the presumption of reliance needed to proceed with their class action.
Professor Kevin Haeberle joined UC Irvine Law as a Professor of Law in 2023. His research centers on the stock market and other secondary markets for financial instruments.
