IRVINE, Calif. (February 28, 2024) — On February 25, UC Irvine School of Law’s Environmental Law Clinic (ELC) joined student groups, campus departments, and local organizations to promote sustainability efforts at Sustainival, an annual fair hosted in partnership with UCI Sustainability Resource Center that celebrates UC Irvine’s commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
Students from the Environmental Law Clinic tabled at the event, engaging with attendees about the work of the Environmental Law Society and the Environmental Law Clinic. The students highlighted the benefits of participating in these groups and provided insight into environmental law as a career path. Additionally, students answered questions about the law school application process and shared their experiences in environmental advocacy.
Through the Environmental Law Clinic, students take an active role in representing clients in litigation and policy matters. They advocate in courts and before administrative tribunals while advising clients on legislative, policy, and strategic issues. The clinic’s diverse docket spans local, regional, and national environmental and natural resources law, offering students a rigorous, hands-on educational experience that extends beyond environmental law.
